There is a significant interest with developing a comprehensive structural design guide directly applicable to pultrusion. This task is complicated by the possible variations in the actual processing and performance of raw materials from raw material supplier to raw material supplier. This task is further complicated by the possible choices in raw materials made by the individual pultruders. Some differences in these choices would include: the total reinforcement fiber volume, the ratio of 0 deg to 90 deg reinforcement, the type of resin, the resin/reinforcement compatibility, the filler type, the filler particle size, the catalyst, etc. These processing choices are all confounded by multiple suppliers of the same raw material. One paper could not discuss all of the possible permutations affecting the structural performance.
