This paper is based on two fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite highway bridge. The first bridge was installed on the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) Transportation Complex outside Idaho Falls, Idaho. INEEL is approx 9.1 meters (30 ft.) long, approx 5.5 meters (18 ft.)wide, and approx 914 mm (3 ft.) deep. The second bridge that will be discussed is the Butler Country Bridge in Ohio. The Butler County Bridge, named TECH 21, was installed on a highway off Route 128. TECH 21 has a traffic count of 1000 and is expected to increase to 2000 with the bridge growing from a one-lane bridge to a two-lane bridge. TECH 21 is approx 10.1 meters (33 ft.) long, approx 7.3 meters (24 ft.)wide, and approx 838 mm (33 in.) deep. Design, Manufacturing, Installations, and Testing of both bridges will be discussed.
