DEVELOPMENT OF A SYSTEM OF SYSTEMS ENGINEERING RESEARCH LABORATORY

摘要

The paper describes the planning and implementation of a laboratory designed to facilitate a system of systems research environment. The objective of this laboratory is to explore the impact and implications of system context on design, analysis, and deployment of complex system change and transformation, as well as enhancing group decision making. To realize this objective, the laboratory was designed to facilitate; (1) structured identification of critical contextual aspects of a complex system, (2) assessment of the potential impacts/consequences of context to successful system transformation, (3) the limitations context imposes on system changes, and (4) development of system transformation implications based on examination of potential contextual failure modes. The integration of technological and non-technological artifacts were used for development of an environment capable of improving group decision making.
