摘要

Rice is one of the major staple foods in the world, and China is one of the biggest rice producing countries. Monitoring and understanding the distribution transition of China's rice production and its influencing factors are very important for agricultural sustainability. This paper describes the spatial distribution transition of China's rice production from 1978 to 2009 by analyzing the index of rice production concentration, and then establishes spatial econometric models to investigate the influencing factors of the transition. The empirical results show that: there is an obvious positive spatial effect in China's rice production; the spatial distribution transition is positively affected by chemical fertilizer, effective irrigation area, rice yield per mu, agricultural labor, and cultivated land.
