This contribution presents data from an experimental study concerning the longtermrndurability of the reinforced and prestressed concrete beams.rnSeveral specimens were exposed to up to 28 years to marine environment (on the INCERCrnfacility on the Black Sea coast) and in industrial environment (in a chloride and sodiumrnproduction facility). During this time, some of the beams were loaded in order to reproducerncracking patterns similar to the serviceability limit state.rnAfter the exposure period, the test specimen were examined and loaded to failure. The strainrnstate of the concrete, the cracking, the load – displacement diagrams and the ultimate loadrnwere recorded.rnThe carbonation depth, the pH, the chloride and the sulfate ions concentration profiles wererndetermined in the pore solution. The electrochemical potential and the corrosion state of thernreinforcement were measured on the whole length of the beams.rnThese experimental data were compared with modeling predictions based on a globalrnapproach developed at EDF. An interesting result is that the cracking pattern has a smallrninfluence on the overall mechanical behavior of the aged specimens although it has anrnimportant effect on the local level.
