FIVE YEARS OF COASTAL SEA LEVEL MONITORING IN THE BAY OF BENGAL WITH CRYOSAT-2

A continuous monitoring of sea level is particularly necessaryrnalong the coastal zones as these areas are the mostrnexposed to flooding and storm surges that dramaticallyrnaffect local economy and society. The aim of this projectrnis to study the annual sea level variability in the Bayrnof Bengal exploiting five years of CryoSat-2 data. Thernwork is focused on the analysis of CryoSats performancesrnover coastal areas with using 20Hz SAR data from SARvatorernonline processing toolbox. This research is alsornan opportunity for comparing SIRALs LRM and SARrnmodes, which have covered the same area for differentrntime frames: LRM from 2010 to October 2012 and SARrnfrom October 2012 to present. Finally, SARvatore isrncompared with independent datasets like the ESA CCIrnproducts, AVISO and RADS.
