Review on the Energy Saving Technologies Applied in Chinese Aluminum Reduction Industry

摘要

The energy saving technologies applied in Chinese aluminumrnreduction are reviewed in this paper. The energy savingrntechnology development in China in the aluminum reduction fieldrncould be divided into three stages. The first stage was retrofit ofrnSoederberg cells to prebaked anode cells and technologyrndevelopment of large amperage prebaked anode cells, whichrnhappened mainly in 1990’s. The second stage was widernapplications of the large amperage prebaked cell technology andrnthe improvement of such relevant technologies as physical fieldsrnsimulation, cell control systems and high quality anode andrncathode manufacturing etc., which covered the first 6-7 years ofrnthis century. The third stage has lasted up to now, which mainlyrnfocused on the energy saving in the present prebaked cells by cellrncathode and lining structure modifications and high performancernoperation and control system applications.
