摘要

The preparation of prebaked anodes from coal using solventrnextraction technology was investigated. Several bituminous coalsrnwere extracted with methylnaphthalene-based solvent underrnpressurized nitrogen atmosphere at 653K, and ash-free and highrnpurity coal extract (Hypercoal, HPC) was obtained. It was foundrnthat the HPC can be utilized as an additive for binder pitch ofrnanode manufacturing; the HPC improves the coke yield of thernpitch and reduces the ash content of the binder. It was also foundrnthat a suitable modified HPC was self-sinterable, and wasrnsuccessfully molded and carbonized without binder pitch to resultrnof dense carbon specimen. These results suggest the possibility forrncoal-based raw materials for prebaked anodes
