Hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) (vibration white finger, occupational Raynard's disease) is commonly observed in a number of different occupations including farming, metal working, the steel industry, lumberign, furniture making, mining, auto-manufacturing, and foundries. Teh common denominator for the occurrence of HAVS within these industries is the use of hand tools, chain saws and pneumatic tools (Simmons and Koris 1992).
