NEW TRENDS IN ENVIRONMENTAL TEST SYSTEMS

Test equipment used to conduct environmental simulation cannot be easily categorized intornclassical disciplines, such as material testing. Environmental simulation covers the aspects of qualityrnassurance, reliability testing, environmental research and protection technique, material research andrnlifetime testing as well as the optimization of environmental related product development with thernobjective to investigate the cause-effect-relationship.rnThe appliances and tools required for the environmental simulation are the various test systemsrnon the one hand and the know-how of the life cycle of the specimen and the physical requirements onrnthe other. For example in the product development it is not sufficient to consider only the utilizationrnphase while ignoring the stresses during transport. In the extreme case, the product would not survivernthe transport.rnThus, a consideration of all factors is necessary as regards environmental simulation. As wernknow from many reports, the "right" approach has to be defined product-specifically.
