Supportive feedback coding for nodes with side information using Hamming codes

摘要

In this paper novel feedback supported coding for nodes with correlated information is presented. It could be applied in scenarios in which the receiving (supportive) node could generate supportive messages, which are received by a supported node and the receiving node, has side information which is correlated with the transmitted one. The supported node, when it needs to transmit stored information towards the supportive node sends a short message (in extreme case only one pulse) in agreed time point after it discovers identical message from supportive node in the air. The method is described based on usage of Hamming code. In this case the supportive messages are cosset code-words. The main practical contribution of the technique presented in this paper is that the rate between the number of supportive and actually transmitted information symbols is decreased, which could save time or energy needed in practical applications. Possible applications area is in Un - attended Wireless Sensor Networks in which the method could increase security.
