This paper presents a new QoS Medium Access procedure for IEEE 802.11 ad hoc networks, called DCFAH. It offers a fair mechanism to access the medium, and a minimum bandwidth to the stations that have requested QoS. Also it is concerned about delay and jitter QoS metrics. DCFAH makes use of the EDCA mechanism to differentiate the QoS service between the flows inside a station, so it can be considered a per flow QoS mechanism. The fairness of the DCFAH is provided through a distributed control of the slots during QoS period. DCFAH also provides BE services to the applications that do not want QoS services.
