Abstract: To evaluate the feasibility of using laser energy in fallopian tube reconstruction, laser assisted anastomosis of dog uterine horn was performed under general anesthesia and compared to conventional suture technique on the contralateral side. Similar degrees of external tissue adhesion were found. However, on the laser sides smoother scars, uniform mucosal surfaces, and significantly less stricture were noted. Histological evaluation also demonstrated the superiority of laser assisted anastomosis as compared to the conventional suture technique. These results suggest that laser assisted anastomosis with a thermal activated binding compound would be a superior method for fallopian tube reconstruction providing better healing of the mucosal surface and significantly less tubal stricture. !16
