Abstract: An airborne coherent Doppler Lidar to retrievemesoscale wind fields has been developed in the frameof the Franco-German WIND project. The instrument isbased on a pulsed CO$-2$/ laser transmitter, heterodynedetection and wedge scanner. The performance of theinstrument operating on the ground and in the aircraftis reported.!2
