1. Developed Electroconductive Hydrogels. (1)Hydrophilic component and electroactive component. (2)Single, multivalent, hydrophilic macro-anion network. 2. Characterization of these Materials reveals: (1)Gels are electroactive with excellent reversibility and fast cation transport. (2)Gels are electrically conductive with predictable impedance properties. (3)Impedance model developed. 3. Integration with bioactive indicator molecules give rise to fast responding, impedance-based, enzyme and immunodiagnostic biosensors. 4. Low density DNA-arrays with voltammetric detection being developed.
