摘要

Presented in the paper is an efficient tool path re-generation algorithm for 3-axis die and moldrnmodification, with which most of the generated CL points can be utilized in the new tool path, only those CLrnpoints in the affected region need to be recalculated. It is assumed in this work that a gouge-free tool path hasrnbeen generated for the original workpiece and the same ball end-mill is to be used to generate the new tool pathrnfor the modified workpiece. The developed algorithm has been tested on several industrial parts and it is proven tornbe able to shorten the tool path regeneration time greatly, and the re-generated tool path is gouge-free.
