摘要

Cellulose is a naturally occurring complex polysaccharide and the most abundant renewable organic material in our globe. It has an important role in the development of industrial application of polymers due to its biodegradability, low cost, natural abundance and status as a renewable resource. Immense possibilities exist in effecting chemical modification of the structure for a wide range of useful practical applications. One such modification as reported in this paper is the introduction of a photo-reactive functional group for the development of UV curable cellulose derivatives which can be used in the surface coatings systems initiated by cationic photoinitiators.
