This paper discusses a traffic congestion reducing method by using an IVC(Inter-Vehicle Communication) and RVC (Road-Vehicle Communication) at aT-intersection. We focused on an intersection because there are often traffic consestionsthere. Thus, the traffic simulations in T-intersection where prospect is not good andbuildings are existed at the corner are performed. Traffic congestion are often happenedsince the vehicles are slowed down or stopped temporary when they are turned right orleft. In proposed scheme, location, velocity and direction information of vehicles aretransmitted by the IVC and the RVC around the intersection in order to assist thedecision for drivers when the vehicles are turn right or left. The IVC and RVC areintegrated because it is difficult to communicate around the bud visibly intersectiononly by using the IVC. As the results, waste of time, acceleration and deceleration canbe reduced and traffic flow becomes smoother. From the simulation, the density of thevehicles, the number of the vehicles that completed right or left turn and averagedwaiting time characteristics are improved compared with ordinary traffic systems at theintersection.
