Hybrid high accuracy positioning combining positioningdevices and infrastructure information

Anticipation is mounting for increased road service efficiency and improvements in the nearrnterm. Positioning technology, among others, is critical for future enhancements. Inrnparticular, the probe car, a service vehicle with the capacity to identify a single lane, showsrnconsiderable promise. Meanwhile, a series of R&D efforts on positioning devices such asrnGPS and gyro as well as on a roadside data platform for a digital road map, a pseudo-lite, arntag, and a quasi-zenithal satellite are actively being conducted. This highly accurate,rnadvanced information that requires registration from the outset will require much morerninvestment compared to the existing in-car navigation system, presaging potential difficultiesrnin the following developments. On this score, a study is actively being carried out to preparerna uniform interface with positioning devices and a platform for location identification, whichrnwill allow those devices to be combined. Finally, the most suitable device combinations arernidentified and the test result on the suitable interface for agent-dispersal operations is reportedrnin this paper.
