In order to simulate coal mine tunnel and to study explosion characteristics of coal dust explosion, a horizontal pipeline device was designed. It has an internal diameter of 139mm, length of 3.1m and thickness of 10mm. Testing experiments of explosion pressure and pressure rise rate of coal dust have been carried out. Coal dust was from Xishan coal mine of Taiyuan. Its particle size was 55μm. Its amount was 100g/m3, 200g/m3 and 300g/m3. The testing data of the explosion pressure and pressure rise rate of coal dust were obtained. Typical pressure testing curves obtained by sensors on different was given. It indicated that the design of horizontal pipeline device was successful and coal dust amount effect on explosion pressure and pressure rising rate.
