First, the article analyzes the NOAA/AVHRR vegetation index to reflect between the spectral response and the vegetation degree of coverage approximate relations. The main shortcoming is in carries out in the standard the human factor influence to be bigger, therefore here does not take this kind of target the article desertification monitor the major targets or quotas system. Then through the regression analysis method, establishes TM at the same time the MSAVI value and the same age the NOAA/AVHRR MSAVI value linear regression equation. TM MSAVI unifies to the NOAA desertification target system. Finally, it judges desertification degree using the NOAA/AVHRR target system.
