Guidelines for Use of Hybrid Laser-Arc Welding in Building of Ships and Offshore Structures

摘要

Hybrid laser-arc welding is a combination of laser beam andconventional arc welding process (MIG) and gives the combined effectof moderate hardness and small deflections for most structural steels forshipbuilding.This paper may serve as a guideline for the qualification andacceptance of hybrid laser-arc welding and form the basis forpermitting more use of this low heat input welding method in buildingships and offshore structures.
