In Tunisia, standards have been developed for the test of solar components (solar collector, thermal storage tank, …). The predictions of the system performances are done using the F-chart method or the Solo method. These methods can give good predictions for large solar systems, but not for the factory assembled individual thermo siphon systems. In fact, despite their influence on the whole system performances, some details related to the whole system design (Tee pieces, elbows….) can not be taken into account by these simplified methods. The development of a global test method is necessary to evaluate the performances of the factory-assembled system sold as a whole package. The ENIT Solar Energy Laboratory is carrying out tests of the whole system for solar domestic hot water systems. Tests according to the CSTG Input/Output method and the DST method are being carried on. Three thermo siphon system and an assisted solar system are being tested according to the Input/Output method.
