Autonomous Agents in Healthcare Management

摘要

Traditional approaches used to develop automated decision support systems do not adapt well to complex domains. A complex domain is an area in which one or more of the following is present: multiple decisions based on disjoint data, multiple reasoning paradigms, varying agendas associated with subcomponents of the decision. Autonomous agents have been used to address these issues in the areas of business and economics. These models can be adapted to deal with medical decision-making, especially in the current climate in which economic factors often affect medical diagnosis, treatment, and staging. A framework is illustrated using graph theory is given, along with description of the types of agents that make up the network. A specific implementation is given for decision-making in dementia.
