The operation principles and the field test results of the synchronization system are stated in the paper. The system is intended for ground-placed sites time-scale synchronization. The system being an essential part of an active or passive multiposition radio complexes has a mainly influence on objects location determination precision. The time-scale synchronization error of the ground-placed sites must be smaller then σ_i/c, where σ_i- coordinate metering error and c - velocity of light. So the time-scale synchronization error must be smaller then 10 nsec when the coordinates metering error smaller then 10 meters is required. The possibility of an object location determination precision smaller then 10 meters is investigated in the paper. Such high precision may be provided by UHF synchronization signal transmission if the conditions are favourable. In the investigation it was necessary to define the possible equipment synchronization precision in a ground-placed sites with a priori unknown coordinates. Therefore the synchronization equipment is to provide the signal propagation time measurement from one ground-placed site to other and to make universal time-scales in the sites.
