Factors Affecting Algal Bloom at Hanjiang River, China

摘要

Harmful algal blooms (HABs) have become an important water quality problem in the world. Four events of algal blooms, diatom blooms, were observed in the middle and lower reaches of Hanjiang River when the condition of water flow, climate and water quality satisfied to the circumstance of algal bloom. Since current contents of N and P meet the standard of eutrophication, it can be predicated that algal bloom would be inevitable along the middle and lower reaches of Hanjiang River when the water discharge is less than 500m~3/s and the temperature is between 10℃ and 20℃.
