In this paper, one shortcoming of existing fuzzy reliability was pointed out that the shape of membership function and the values of parameters of this function are arbitrary decisions, therefore the reliability computations given by such theory are also arbitrary, and some data are even absurd from the point of view of engineering practice. An applied fuzzy reliability theory applied to practical engineering was also presented. Correspondingly, the calculating model and method of fuzzy reliability were developed.
