@@It has been revealed that the frictional coefficient of hydrogels changes over a wide range and exhibits very low values under certain conditions (10-3-10-4), which are significantly lower than that of rubbers or other solid materials [1,2]. The recent invention of mechanically tough hydrogels [35] has changed the stereotype of weak and brittle synthetic hydrogels. Tough hydrogels with a low surface friction have demonstrated the high potential of these materials to be used in engineering and bioindustries such as low-friction artificial cartilages and industry bearings[6-7].
