@@Molecular imprinting is a method for the synthesis of tailor-made recognition materials by copolymerizing suitable functional monomers in the presence of desired template molecules. To date, the molecular imprinting technology against small molecules has been well-established. However, the imprinting of proteins and other biomacromolecules continues to be a significant challenge. The major difficulty lies in their restricted mass transfer across the cross-linked polymer matrix due to the large molecular sizes. To address this problem, a variety of approaches have been developed, such as surface imprinting1 and epitope imprinting.2 Recently, it has been accepted that adopting a nanosized physical form is another effective approach. Several research groups have explored different nanotechniques for the imprinting of protein molecules.
