Speed up Tourism with Scientific Views of Development: Basic ideas and countermeasures of tourist planning in Dalian

Tourism, a pillar industry with strong development potential in Dalian, has given great impetus to the development of other industries. Scientific views of human-based, comprehensive, harmonious and sustainable development should be abided by for tourist industry plan making in Dalian. According to both of scientific views of development and the reality in Dalian, this paper proposes developing Dalian s tourist industry in the coming 20 years as the following; Oriented by market and reform, taking advantages of rejuvenation of the old industrial base of Northeast China and the construction of Pan-Dalian to advance a further step to develop and optimize tourist industry; specialize in both of developing new products to meet the need of markets and exploring new tourist sources from home and abroad; develop Hi-tech and modern tourist projects to attract more tourists in all the year round; build the two downtowns as the center and "Three Satellite Towns" and Changhai County as their satellites for Dalian's tourism; cooperate with other distinctive tourism cities, explore international market in more areas to earn more net foreign exchanges profit and to build Dalian a world famous tourism city.
