MMT 2004 - The 4th International Symposium on Mobile Mapping Technology STEREOPOLIS: AN IMAGE BASED URBAN ENVIRONMENTS MODELING SYSTEM

摘要

This paper provides some ideas on a general stategy for the acquisition and the modeling of 3D city models from aerial and terrestrial surveys. It focuses especially on the collection of highly georeferenced terrestrial stereopairs by a ground-based mobile mapping system called Stereopo-lis. The originality of the Stereopolis System is that the georeferencing is mainly provided by image analysis and stereovision algorithms to achieve precisions that can not be classically achieved with classical navigation devices in very dense urban areas.
