The jump-like deformation of the Zr_(46,8)Ti_8Cu_(7,5)Ni_(10)Be_(27,5) bulk metallic glass at 300 K was investigated through uniaxial compression and nanoindentation experiments. In both cases the jump-like deformation is caused by the formation and spreading of localized shear bands, due to the heterogeneous character of plastic deformation of the bulk metallic glass.
