We tried to find a Ti-based glass-forming system with high glass-forming ability and distinct ductility. As a result, a new Ti-based BMG was found in the (Ti-Zr-Hf)-Cu-Ni-Si senary system. The critical diameter for glass-formation of the alloy lay between 5 and 6 mm. The fracture strength and strain under tensile stress were 2040 MPa and 0.021, respectively. The ductility nature of the alloy is attributed to the synergetic effects of the excess free volumes due to high GFA and the pinning sites to stop the localized shear slip due to the existence of nano-crystals. These high GFA, good mechanical properties and distinct ductility enable us to apply the senary alloy for some industrial uses.
