摘要

Hydrogen was cathodically charged into type 304 stainless steel by applying a constant current density. It is found that hydrogen and chloride ions have a synergistic effect on breakdown potential and passive current density. Hydrogen can greatly decrease the critical concentration of chloride ions for the breakdown of passive films, which indicates that hydrogen can promote the breakdown of passive films. With an increase in stress, the critical concentration decreases.
