摘要

Applicability of the new electrochemical real-time corrosion condition measurement technique, in which polarization conductance is measured under varied stationary polarization condition, and by which confirmation of conversion coefficient value of polarization conductance to corrosion rate prior to the measurement is not needed, is investigated on corrosion of steel. Estimated corrosion rates by the technique are in good agreement with those by weight loss data, and calculated full polarization curves are also in good agreement with experimentally observed data. From these results, the validity of the new technique is confirmed. It is noticeable that the new technique enables to measure anodic- and cathodic-polarization characteristics and Tafel slopes separately in real-time without disturbing or changing the corrosion conditions of the testing subject.
