摘要

Influence of ambient air temperature and applied water conductivity on the electrical performance of a post insulator covered with ice under switching impulse voltages was studied. It was found that both parameters affect the 50% flashover voltage of the test insulator under both negative and positive switching impulse voltages. The results can be useful to improve the selection of outdoor insulators in cold climate regions.
