摘要

The iron core has shown to be the most important part to model accurately in power transformer models. This paper illustrates how the frequency dependent behavior of the core can be approximated by means of an equivalent complex permeability based on a solution of the magnetic field within a lamination. This description may easily be implemented into any FEM-based software for the calculation of lumped parameters in transformer models. A comparison to measurement is made for self inductance and resistance, and a complete transformer model is compared to measurements in order to illustrate the importance of a proper iron core representation.
