Weak rocks in engineering practice

摘要

Weak or soft rocks occur widely in geologic conditions of the Slovak part of the Western Carpathians. It is practically impossible to avoid these rock materials in engineering constructions. The paper deals with the basic definition of weak rocks, characteristics of individual lithological types and it illustrates problems with this rock group in engineering practice.
