In recent years the advancement of computation makes it possible to perform large-scale fluid acoustic simulation of realistic systems. This article describes an attempt for developing a numerical algorithm of fluid-structure coupled vibration based on independent programs and meshes. The propagation of flow-induced noise into the structure of a 5-stage Boiler Feed Pump was numerically simulated. The turbulent flow inside the pump is solved by a code FRONTFLOW-Blue by means of Large Eddy Simulation. We developed a general-purpose interface for grid mapping and data interpolation from fluid mesh to structure mesh. The surface stresses at the fluid-wall interface were transferred to the structure nodes. An explicit finite element program NEXST-Impact simulated the vibration propagation in the structure. The simulation obtained precise results fulfilling the engineering application. Some computation technologies including parallel processing and super computer were applied.
