PMR polyimide matrix resins were synthesized by incorporation of carbonyl groups in PMR-Ⅱ polyimide. High quality carbon fiber-reinforced composites can be prepared, which was then employed to prepare carbon fiber-reinforced polyimide composites. Experimental results indicated that the composites exhibited Tg (DMA) of as high as 439℃ and onset temperature decomposition (TGA) of 560℃. The onset temperature of storage modulus (DMA) was measured at 400℃ and the retention of storage modulus at 371℃ was 75%.
