摘要

Recently because of the adverse toxic of Pb, Pb-free brass has been developed consciously. There are two ways to attain Pb-free brass; by using virgin materials and using scrap brass after removing the Pb content. In the present study, we have developed a new technology to remove Pb from brass. In order to know the improvement of the environmental effect, life cycle assessment (LCA) has been applied on production of Pb-free brass. The results show that using the technology for removing Pb from scrap brass that developed in the present study could significantly decrease the resource depletion, energy consumption, acidification potential and global warming potential (GWP) gases.
