Prospects of Biomass as Source of Fuel for Fuel Cells

摘要

Biomass could play an important role as a source of fuel in the future and also allow for efficient waste management. In addition, the use of fuel cell technology could make efficient use of the energy extracted from this source reducing the emission of greenhouse gases from fossil fuels. Various paths will be explored and an example of the application of biomass conversion and fuel cell technologies in the pulp and paper industry and its impacts will be presented.
