Effect of Crusher Dust Content in Manufactured Fine Aggregates on Workability and Compressive Strength of Concretes

The particles of Manufactured fine aggregate (MFA) normally have the characteristics of roughness, angularity and poor gradation. The mixtures of low/medium strength concretes with MFA need more water for same workability, have poor workability and ease of segregation. The results of the research on effect of floating crusher dust contents in MFA on workability and compressive strength of concretes show that a suitable percentage of crusher dust in MFA can obviously improve workability and strength of concretes, especially lean concretes. This supports reasonable control of crusher dust in MFA production and efficient utilization of crusher dust in preparation of concretes with MFA to improve their properties.
