摘要

Steel P 91 has been widely used worldwide since its first commercial use as pipe material in the construction of brown coal-fired 450 MW unit in the East German power plant of Schkopau. Today, it is the material of choice in the context of all new projects. In addition, it is used as high pressure steam pipe in majority of cases when retrofitting existing power plants. This paper presents concisely the knowledge about the microstructure, creep rupture behaviour of steel P 91 and its weld-ments. The economic and technical benefits that can be derived by the use of P 91 for refurbishment and retrofitting of power plant steam lines are demonstrated by means of concrete cases of application.
