Stochastic simulation of peculiarities of laser pulse propagation in clouds and water media

摘要

In this paper, we describe results of Monte Carlo simulation of short laser pulses scattering in atmospheric clouds andwater media. We analyze peculiarities of the photons distribution in thin cloud layers. The simulation results show thatthe secondary smaller luminous ring may appear for a short time in addition to the primary ring of light expanding in thecloud layer. The secondary ring appears because of local maxima of the cloud phase functions. Moreover, under certainconditions the effects similar to the expanding rings may be observed in water media.
