Lead zirconate titanate (PZT) powders were prepared through the sol-gel processing with addition of organic polymers, such as polyethylene oxide (PEO, M.W. 8000,000) and polyethylene qlycol (PEG, M.W. 2000). This resulted in PZT ceramic samples with more uniform and hgiher grain size, which lead to higher relative density i.e. lower porosity. This effect slightly increased by using the polymer of higher molecular weight. As expected the dielectric constant was found to increase as teh ceramic relative density increased. The favorable effect of polymers was still prevailing at high temperatures.
