A new modelling of concrete-advanced fibers composite

New structural elements are developed made of a new developed concrete composite. The new developed composite is composed of reinforced concrete with both steel bars and glass fiber reinforced plastic robes or strips of sheets. Another type of advanced composite material is used to develop the new composite which is the carbon fiber reinforced plastic robs and sheets CFRP. The new composite considers that the concrete represents the matrix and the steel bars and the advanced fibers as the fibers. The advanced fiber composite is embedded in the concrete matrix in the whole cross section longitudinally and transversally. Longitudinal fibers are parallel to the main steel reinforcement while the transverse fibers are parallel to the stirrups. The research is conducted experimentally and theoretically.
