The results of the measurements of the directed scattering coefficients D for scattering angle of 45° of the near-surface aerosol and its dry fraction in the spectral interval 254 nm - 578 nm are analyzed. The observations were made at Zvenigorod Scientific Station of lAPh in Moscow Region and at the Black Sea coast near Odessa. The measurement data were inverted to the aerosol size distributions in the radius range 0.07 um -1.1 um. The statistical analysis of the logarithms of obtained size distributions using the method of principle components was performed. The close connection between statistical characteristics of the size distributions and spectral dependencies of the directed scattering coefficients was revealed. The retrieved size distributions can be approximated by a sum of lognormal fractions. Two fractions was found to be sufficient in the considered size region. Typical values of their median radii (0.04 um and 0.4 um) are close to those we obtained from solar aureole and extinction measurements in different regions.
