During the 1990s, technology changed with each passing day. This made the life cycles of products to become shorter and shorter. Market competition lead enterprises to have to get rid of the stale and bring forth the fresh. This resulted in more and more future oriented economic behavior. These behaviors need effective theories and method of management to deal with these projected economic behaviors. Therefore, in this modern era, project management has increasingly been recognized as a more practical theory and method of management with importance for Chinese economic development. The manufacture of model engineering has all the features of representative projects and project management. Since its foundation, Datian Company is been given more than ten tasks by the state model engineering. Initially, the company can only do a single model, and now there are several types in parallel developing. The level of manufacturing quality is getting higher and the engineering ability is also enhanced. However, the urgent matter at this time is how to use finite resources to make multi-model development stay in balance in order to satisfy the customer. This research was done on the Datian Company. The author will use the general theories of project management to discuss the related issue of project management using in model engineering, especially in multi-model engineering.
