Heterogeneous chemical reactions of ozone with HBr and HClrnadsorbed on the ice surface at the presence of NO and NO2 have beenrninvestigated using vacuum flowing gas-discharged device under thernconditions, close to stratospheric. Reactions occurred on thernthermostated gold reaction mirrors of the FTIR spectrometerrnsupplementary device with grazing angles reflection. It was shown thatrnnitrogen oxides have effects only on heterogeneous oxidation of HBr.rnThe influence of NO reduces to immediate formation of NOBr, NO2rnplays the role of oxidizing agent. The processes described canrnsufficiently enlarge the existing theory of the mechanism ofrnstratospheric ozone depletion.
